Originating from Europe during the days of the plague, you'll find there are many different versions of how this special concoction came to be. The most well-known version states that during the quarantines, a gang of Four Thieves rose to prominence, breaking into homes and taking what they pleased, especially from the dead. People were outraged at this, and wondered how these plunderers could possibly survive the plague-ridden homes. Eventually, the thieves were captured and soon to be executed. In exchange for their freedom, they offered up their secret for how they managed to evade certain death from the plague. Thus, we now have Four Thieves Vinegar.
This mixture is especially potent, and while most spells call for its consumption due to the healing properties of this vinegar, we would suggest using it in other ways.
Widely known for its ability to remove danger from ones' path, the Voodoo and Hoodoo community adopted Four Thieves Vinegar for use in banishing and commanding spells. We do not recommend consuming this item, as many spells call for it.
Example Uses During Spellwork:
- Use as floor wash combined with black salt for a powerful way to cleanse negativity.
- To banish someone from your life, soak paper with the target's name on it with Four Thieves Vinegar, then fold tight and bury it.
- Use to clean surfaces such as countertops.
